Nashville 3

We also went to about 6 civil war sites. The best tour that we EVER had was at the Carter House (Battle of Franklin). The guide was a preacher (2nd job) and looked like Steve Irwin (croc hunter). His 90 minute tour was awesome. This is also a must see. The building below has 206
bullet holes in it and it has the distiction of most bullet holes in a building that is still standing.

Here are the little statues in the Parthanen

See our excitement!!!!!

Actual trip was great. I would skip Mammoth Cave Historic tour and hit some of the caves outside the park. They actually have stalagtites and stalagmites and other cool things. However, there is plenty of stuff to do outside the cave (you could spend a week there...there is also a life size dinosaur exhibit right off the highway.
Also, if you want to blow a lot of money in a mall and never really buy anything, go the Opry Mills. The place is huge and has water massages, sort of bungy jump thing, Imax, a resturant surrounded by a huge aquarium with sharks, huge merry-go-round, a 50's diner, Bass Pro shop, and we only walked about 20% of it.

Nashville2

Nashville 2. We did go the Grand Old Opry. See Charlie Daniels, Dirk Bently, Rocky Mountain Express (Rocky Top). No pics of this however.

The other awsome thing we saw was the parthanon... No, we didn't discover a time/space portal and travel to Greece. For some reason, Nashville has a exact replica of the Parthanon from like 400BC (you know, before people in 1682 stored gunpowder in it and somehow it went blammo).

For scale, the little person that is being held in the hand is 6 foot tall. The photos do not do the statue justice (actually the photos make it look FREAKY). Actually it is very cool. Tons on detail on the statue, shield, snake, and they actually had replicas of all the little dudes that you see on the outside triangle of the building. Definate must see to appreciate.

Nashville Trip

So Kerry and I got rid of the kids and took a trip. Where....Mexico, Vegas??? nope Nashville.

Kerry at Andrew Jackson's home

Back of Andrew Jackson's house. (In case you are wondering, he wasn't home)...Don't know who he is.....study some American History

Abe Lincolns birthplace....really....ok, there is a log cabin in the monument but that is not really his actual home either. Wonder what is real here....got me. The new pennies are awesome.

Kerry thinks she sees a Dino footprint at the Falls of the Ohio. CRAZY!!!!

So it has been a month and a half since I updated this....so sue me. Somebody in this house has to work.

Dad at Rex Lynn's at the airshow. No pics of airplanes...sorry
